Lagina Plumbing Moves to Pierce Street
March 5 , 2007 --Lagina Plumbing has moved to 3618 W. Pierce St. in Milwaukee to accommodate continued expansion of the company.
The new facility is just over one mile from its previous location on Miller Park Way in West Milwaukee.
Lagina Plumbing owner Jim Lagina purchased the 80-year-old manufacturing building on Pierce Street and completely renovated it for his company. The two-story, 12,000-square-foot building offers triple the space Lagina Plumbing had on Miller Park Way.
The additional space will provide more room for Lagina Plumbing’s prefabrication work, allowing the company to bolster project efficiency. The building also has more space for offices and conferences.
The building was constructed in 1928 for a manufacturer known as General Hardware. Renovation included interior and exterior work, reflecting the historic nature of the brick building and the neighborhood, known as Silver City.
Companies involved in renovation of the building were Eppstein Uhen Architects and Building Service, Inc., both of Milwaukee, Glass, Inc., Sussex, for new windows and doors, W.H. Jacklin, Inc., Milwaukee, for the HVAC system, Good Electric, Inc., Milwaukee for electricity, and Stuck Wood Works, Milwaukee, for cabinetry and millwork. Furnishing is through M&M Office Furniture.
Lagina Plumbing is planning a May open house for employees, customers, vendors and others.
Lagina Plumbing is one of southeastern Wisconsin’s premier commercial plumbing companies. Its projects include the Milwaukee Public Market, Bayshore Mall in Glendale, St. Joseph’s Outpatient Center in Wauwatosa, Ace Precision Machining in Oconomowoc, and the Crowne Plaze Hotel, currently being built on the Milwaukee County Grounds in Wauwatosa.
