Lagina Plumbing Selected for Prototype Crowne Plaza Hotel Project

Jan. 3, 2007 -- Lagina Plumbing has been selected to provide plumbing services for the prototype Crowne Plaza Hotel being built at the Milwaukee County Research Park in Wauwatosa.

The $28 million hotel is being built at the southeast corner of Mayfair Road (Highway 100) and Watertown Plank Road, with M.A. Mortenson Co. as the general contractor. The eight-story, 199-room hotel will contain a mix of conventional guest rooms and suites, a restaurant, conference space, a swimming pool and other amenities.

The hotel is being developed by Russ Kaloti and Bill DeForest of KL Hotel, LLC, a partnership formed by Kaloti Enterprises of New Berlin and Lane Hospitality of Northbrook, Ill. Lane operates numerous hotels under various brand names.

The Wauwatosa hotel will be a prototype for the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Resorts brand, which focuses on business travelers, offering business services and amenities within a residential design.

“We’re happy to be a significant part of this project as KL Hotel develops the prototype for the new design and presentation of InterContinental Hotels Group’s Crowne Plaza brand,” said Jim Lagina, president of Lagina Plumbing in West Milwaukee.

The hotel is expected to be open by the spring of 2008.
